Color Rendering Index (CRI)
CRI, short for Color Rendering Index, is an indicator that measures a light source's ability to reproduce the true colors of objects. Its value is expressed as a percentage or a number ranging from 0 to 100. A value of 100 represents the ideal state, meaning the colors of objects under the light source are completely consistent with those under a standard light source. It is generally believed that a CRI of ≥90 indicates a high-color-rendering light source, which is often used in museums, art galleries, and high-end commercial exhibitions, as it can accurately present the color details of exhibits. A CRI between 80 and 89 can meet the needs of daily office and home lighting. However, light sources with a CRI below 80 will cause objects to have varying degrees of color distortion. High-CRI light sources can make the colors in the environment more vivid and rich, improve visual comfort, and are crucial in scenarios with strict color requirements.
